  • Mdina and Mosta

Next aim of our trip was Mdina, the former capital of Malta. It is a medieval town with narrow, quiet streets, situated on a hill, offering an unusual view of the island.

We have spent some time in Mdina and move to Mosta. The main attraction in Mosta is the Rotunda – a huge round church which seems Pantenon.

The  church is known with bomb which hit the dome of the church but failed to explode it is considered a miracle. The detonator was removed and a replica bomb is now displayed as a memorial.

Unfortunately church was closed so we could not visit the inside and see the bomb, we looked it only from the outside.

  • travel Malta by bus

Malta has very good develop bus communication, you can travel by bus through Malta. Buying 7 days ticket for 12 euro is the cheapest way to travel and visiting all placed worth to see. Sometimes you wait some time for bus, not popular line comes by 1 hours, but we were on Malta 10 days, so we have enough free time :), we did not decided to hire a car, due to left side traffic and very narrow street. Buses has usually air conditioning so sometimes it was very good solution to shelter from the sun for about an hour:) and move to another location.

The second day we have took some research through Malta, sunbathed and swam in the closest sea, then we catch the bus and moved to Cirkewwa Ferry. Cirkewwa is a place where ferries depart to the other island of Malta – Gozo. Next place when we travel was Silema. We had a dinner there and after that we went to airport catch bus to Bugibba.

  • Day 1

I  back from Malta few days ego.  And I’m getting use  to the cold temperature, I have cough, but I would like to start from beginning of our amazing journey.

Before the journey I have wondered how we manage to pack all necessary things in one back, but we meet any problem, everything was fit without major problems.

    my backpack travel to Malta

We landed on Malta at about 9 pm. I felt temperature shock,

I supposed that will be hot but not really that, there was 28 degree, I’m used to colder temperature, current temperature in my country is  10 degree. I had dressed jacket and long trousers.

We have catch bus where air  conditioning was worked luckily. The bus journey take about 1,5 hour, we got out on the last bus stop so we no not stressed where we should stopped. We have got out and started looking for our hotel, we have a map where the place with hotel was marked, so we went to search of according to direction on map. Our searching take about hour and the street on map do not agree with the street on real, it was about 12 pm,  my husband bore my backpack because I’m pregnant, we both started felt tired. Then I have entered on one of the hotel and asked guy where is Buggiba Hotel, he told that we should to back to bus terminal and go straight ahead, it took about 20 minutes walk, then we asked guys in restaurant where should we follow, they got us direction and we finally find our hotel:) it was about half past 12. We took the keys,  open the room door and noticed that is no kitchenette in room, we have booked studio with kitchen, but we got room without, but we didn’t reported it in reception desk because we do not planned any cooking, so left our backpacks and go out to find something to eat.

    View through the hotel window

We were really hungry, the last meal we have before the flight about 2pm. We have ordered only French fries and beer for husband and water for me. We have stayed in restaurant  few minutes. After back to our hotel room (it was 1:30)  cold shower and  I finally went to bed.

    …to be continued
